Weekend Update

Friday afternoon, I figured I'd go check out the Transit Museum at Grand Central, as I always see ads for it on the Subway, and "I've always wanted to do that/go there, but..." is no longer my life motto. COULD NOT FIND THE TRANSIT MUSEUM. Honestly. Upstairs, downstairs, left and right. Checked multiple maps trying to find it. Started wondering if at some point I had imagined its existence. Defeated, caught a train home and once again did not clean my room. But I finished watching the first season of Fushigi Yugi.

Saturday I tooled around Jersey and got very very lost. But it was fun! Saw lots of places I'd like to come back and visit, and finally found my lady doc up in Summit.

Saturday night, went to wangch61's Blackout party. Apparently there are incriminating photos. Shit. Had much booze, met some new lj people. Danced with prettykate, and caracarn's gf joined us. No one else did. Total sausage fest. Pickup line of the night: wangch61's roommate Mullen to me - "Your tits look great in that dress!" Smoooooooth. No wonder he got to wear the day-glo green pimp hat. I require glow stick reparations.*

Crashed at prettykate's, and woke up early to go hiking con zuppy28 and friend. Hiking was fun and murderous. But I did it! Hungover! Go me! Only slightly sunburned on shoulders, but that means today I match my fuschia skirt. Who needs jewelry?!

Got to chat with pyrobovaphiliac on the phone for a bit this weekend, which is good. Didn't spend a lot of money, which is also good so I can save for class and vacation. Despite being incredibly tired today, had a really fun weekend in a line of fun weekends that should hopefully continue indefinitely (or at least until I say "THAT'S IT! NO MORE FUN! YOU KNOW WHAT'S FUN? BED! MM, BED!").

And now, if I put that mannequin from the prop closet at my desk, maybe no one will notice I'm grabbing a nap downstairs in the bathroom or something. Hmmmm...

*In his defense, my tits** DID look great, and I believe I successfully went through the night without a Tara Reid moment. Go me.

**Let's talk semantics for a moment. I do not have tits. Tits is such a cute little word, and should only be applied to cute little breasts. I got boobs. They get in the way and they look nice if they choose to, like my hair. I put up with the big wobbly parasites because they garner me attention and the occasional comic book discount.

Stupid Work Tricks

D and Casey went to lunch, and are coming back with Chinese Food. We wait for the elevator and pass the time by playing the "Who is in the elevator right now?" game with the security monitor. As everyone exits, we realize we were both completely wrong.

Continuing the discussion inside the elevator.

D: Well, sometimes the camera angle throws height perspective completely off.
Casey: It does! And really, everyone stands in the corners, so you can't even see faces.
D: That's why I like to [he stands in the middle of the elevator and salutes the camera] give a wave and a smile when I'm in here, so everyone knows it's me. It's like, [elevator doors begin to slide open on our floor] if this elevator's rockin', don't come a-knockin'.

On the other side of the elevator doors is our CEO.

I turn approximately 17 shades of red and inform prettykate, "I might be fired tomorrow..."
