Dear People in Charge of the X-Men film franchise -

Hello, I'm writing this letter after recently viewing X-Men 2. The movie was very good and made me regret that minute I spent in the potty. However, I do have some comments I'd like to voice to you.

  • Much of the audience is well-versed in the X-Men universe. We know Wolverine has a total boner for Jean Grey. We grew up watching the cartoon on Fox. We all own that issue of Uncanny X-Men with them macking on the cover. Those of us who don't, watched the first movie. Thus, you do not have to show us longing looks in every two shot of them. Don't worry, we'll remember he totally digs her. Personally, I'd be much more interested in why he cares about her.
  • Pyro was, no pun intended, very hot. You should have a lot more Pyro in the next film. And possibly sexy nude photos of him in the DVD extras.
  • If you're aiming to make smoochies between Storm and Nightcrawler, again, we don't need closeup two shots of them every fifteen minutes. Trust me, there are good actors portraying both characters. You don't need to help them along with cameras.

Thank you for listening to my concerns. I hope you will remember them for X-Men 3: Something to Do With Phoenix or Somesuch.

Hell yeah!

I didn't read your post though. *L* I didn't know if it had spoilery stuff in it and I'm going to see the movie tonight, but the last line jumped out at me. As a rabid Gambit fan, I was NOT happy to find out that what I'd heard about him and Beast being in the movie were just rumors. >_

Gambit and Beast

There was a Gambit cameo filmed. It was one of the stuntmen as Gambit. It was nothing big. It got cut. However, Remy's name is on the list of mutants on Stryker's computer. I think they're holding off on introducing Gambit because the half of the world that aren't die hard Wolverine, are die hard Gambit. Because there'd be so much backlash if they blew it, they're holding off. Not to mention, Gambit isn't being missed so far. If they start throwing clever little cameos from every character in the movies, we'll wind up with Mortal Kombat Annihilation, tons of character cameos...no story to speak of. It's better they keep worrying about making a good movie then appeasing people with a meaningless 5 second cameo. Thankfully the Collossus appearance made sense. By the way, Beast was in fact in the movie, as well. Dr. Hank McCoy is being interviewed on the TV show that is on in the bar when Mystique seduces the Prison Guard.

Ohhhhhhh yes I saw both human beast and Remy's name which made me squeel... literally. My best friend laughed at me while my boyfriend (who was never a big X-Men fan but loves the movies) had no clue what I was going on about. He figured it out after I made a little "so close!" comment. ^_^

::giggles:: My boyfriend thought Colossus was Silver Surfer... poor thing. (I gave him mountains of useless info on the way home though.)

i almost cheered out loud when i saw McCoy on the screen...i, too, gave mountsains of useless info to my boyfriend upon exiting the theatre.

i think maybe it's good they wait for the third movie for gambit...every movie needs a pull-in gimmick
i.e. it was rumored that there would be three villains in spidey 2 (july 2004) alas, there will be only one. oh man that totally sounded like a highlander line. d'oh!

*LOL*

I think it's GREAT that there are all these girls out there giving their boyfriends the info. Like when I saw House of 1,000 Corpses and outside there was a guy whose girlfriend looked really annoyed and he kept saying "It wasn't that bad, I liked it" meanwhile I was doing the same thing too. XD

I love being a nerd girl.

Other mutants mentioned on Stryker's computer...
Keniucho Harada (Silver Samurai), Garrison Kane (Kane), Remy LeBeau (Gambit), Eric Lensherr (Magneto), Artie Maddicks, Jamie Madrox (Multiple Man), Xi'an Coy Mahn (Karma), Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver), Kevin McTaggart, Danielle Moonstar (Mirage), Ororo Munroe (Storm), Paige Guthrie (Husk), Samuel Guthrie (Cannonball)

The Omega Red project is also mentioned on the computer. Don't know if I said that before. Thanks to whichever guy saw that movie 6 times this weekend to copy down all the names and post it on Darkhorizons.com.

Gambit is my boy! I'm mad that he isn't in it, after all, isn't he one of the most popular characters after Wolvie? Le sigh. Although I'd rather have him not in it at all then be done badly. I wonder if he would he be his normal age, or a bit younger as to pair him up with Rogue? (Haven't seen X2 yet, btw) And if he is in it they damn better well do the eyes right! Oh well, guess speculating is the only thing that the Gambit fans can do right now. Are you mailing that letter? You so should.
