40cakes: (The $$6.50/hour Woman)

The note was posted sometime during the week of 2/2-2/8. It said that some seasonal people would be let go effective the week of 2/16. It was very hard picking who got to stay blah blah blah. It also said that Ken, store manager, would touch base with the seasonal people who would be let go.

Since he didn't talk to me at all in about 2 weeks, I kinda got my hopes up. But apparently in Ken's universe "touch base" means "not alert at all." Myself and four other girls found out today that we were being let go. I was the first to find out. I didn't find out because Ken told me. I didn't find out because one of the TWO managers in the store today told me.

I found out because I checked next week's schedule. And then wondered where my name had gone.

Oh well. $85 every two weeks really wasn't that great anyhoo. But the work was fun. Hello, data entry position.

"esides Sam....

Dead Vamp Mr. Trick (Why don't vamps have personalities anymore?)
Parker Abrams
Groosalugg
Veruca (Can interact with Oz)
Olivia

Doesn't that just piss you off to no end, that the mucky-mucks never have the balls to tell you that they're not interested in you and just let you deduce it on your own? Sorry to hear it, but believe me, it doesn't stop at Build-a-Bear...

Tools. BTW, did you ever hear that news report on BAB being sued? I heard that on the news about a month ago... some organization was suing them, I think for using toxic materials in their bears or something. Or because too many little kids caught stupid store managers fornicating with the stuffing and stitching machines....whatever. SEND OUT RESUMES TO TV STATIONS IN PHILLY!!!! It's never too early to get a "sorry, we're poor, but you're on file!" letter!

I know one of the bears is being recalled because its nose pops off and chokes small children. But toxic stuffing wouldn't surprise me. :: coughs up hairball ::
