Batman Forever

So this was my favorite of the Batman movies when I was a kid. It was on ABC Family tonight and I was all about it. And it's pretty awful. My god, I had bad taste when I was 12.

Bruce Wayne: I'm having crazy flashbacks to when my parents died when I was a child and going to their funeral and I might be having a psychological breakthrough, which you might be interested in as my psychiatrist.
Chase NicoleKidman: OMG let's make out. *gasp!* You kiss the same way as Batman and therefore I now know you are Batman!

Also, I want to declare a moratorium on the "ID by kissing" thing. Now, I'm pretty sure none of my boyfriends have been masked vigilantes that I've also been attracted to, but seriously. If I were making out with Batman, I would not be mentally comparing dental records to every dude I'd ever kissed. Rather, I'd be all, "KISSING IS AWESOME."

And how did I never notice that Nicole Kidman has the worst American accent ever? Is it because she was still married to crazy Tom Cruise and he got Tom Cruise crazy on her? I don't know.

You know, as long as you mention identifying Batman, am I the only one who thought it was goofy that in The Dark Knight, no one knows Bruce Wayne is Batman when they both have the same lisp!?! Fer chrissakes, no matter how gravelly Batman makes his voice, he still has the same trouble with the letter S that famous billionaire has.

The Riddler was the only good thing to come out of that movie. But not by much.

I watched that tonight too! And I pretty much had the exact same thought process. The "Holey rusted metal!" riff still gets a chuckle though.

Yes, I have to admit that one still makes me laugh. Man, I hadn't realized how totally 90's Chris O'Donnell looks in that movie. He was so hot when I was 12.

I always thought it was kind of lame that there always had to be a secret love interest who knew Batman's secrety secret identity secret. One per movie, who for some reason wandered out of the picture (between pictures, har har) and never bothered Bruce Wayne with her secret knowledge ever again.

One more reason why the Nolan films are so satisfying.
