- Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl has been counter-programming to the Super Bowl for the past few years. Now to counter the Summer Olympics, Animal Planet plans to introduce Puppy Games 2008. With more than 30 puppies representing a multitude of nations all within one Animal Planet Stadium, each will compete for the Gold in a variety of events including swimming, boxing, soccer and even gymnastics. The three hour special begins on 08-08-08 at 6pm ET, with a sightly shorter version of the games airing on the same night as the Olympics closing ceremony, August 23rd, from 8-11p.

isn't puppy bowl their highest rated show every year? i think the NY Times did a big feature on it this past february, like how they have to shoot 30 hours of footage to get 20 minutes' worth that's usable on TV....
