Storytime!
Jan. 14th, 2003 02:34 amOnce upon a time, in the magical land of New Jersey, Casey came home from work on a cold Thursday night. She had just switched shifts with one of her fellow magical bear builders and would now work on Sunday.
However, her workshop of magical bear building didn't provide a steady schedule, and thus, Casey lost track of her days. That night, as parties raged and roommates were nowhere to be found, it felt absotively posolutely like a Friday night.
Casey woke up extra early to shower and brush her teeth. She was on call at work on Saturday, so she wanted to get halfway ready in case they needed her. When she called in, they didn't need her, so she settled back down into bed.
The next day, Casey remembered that she had switched shifts with a bear builder for Sunday, and got ready to go into the workshop. Her makeup was perfect, her pants and shirt were neatly pressed, and she had keys in hand, almost out of the door when she remembered to take her magical no-make-babies pill.
She was in for a shock, because her magical no-make-babies pill said it was Saturday! How strange! Since it was Sunday, that meant she had missed a pill! This was truly awful, for just the other night, she had done something that might create babies! How could she have been so irresponsible as to forget a pill?
Something nagged at her. Was there a possibility that she hadn't forgotten a pill, but rather, had forgotten what day it was? Was it REALLY Saturday?
Casey phoned her magical Fairy Mom and asked, "Uh, Mom...what day is it?"
"It's Saturday. Why?"
"Uh...no reason. Sure it's not Sunday?"
"I'm sure."
"Okay."
Then she called the magical workshop, for today she was truly on call, and luckily they did not need her. She changed out of her workshop wares, into a comfy sweater, and spent the day reading a magical comic strip by the name of Penny Arcade.
