Of Knitting and Nerdiness

40cakesCLOTHES ARE HARD AND MY PRODUCTS AREN'T MATCHING MY GAUGE SWATCHES AND EVERYTHING'S TOO BIG OR SMALL! That's it; I'm sticking to scarves and silly little toys. They have served me well.
In other news, Kirk and I have given up on Torchwood. We stayed the course for 6 episodes, and that's all we could take. Kudos to the people who write the episode titles, and the Promos department of BBC3, as each week they convinced us that next week's episode would be AWESOME. The characters had no personalities (save for Owen, who is a sociopath), the show was too randomly sexualized*, and the plots themselves were written like fanfiction. The episode that was the last straw was about hick cannibals. No mystery, no aliens, no suspense. Two episodes ago? Cyberwoman** Fuck. Is it Christmas yet? Is it Series 3/20something yet?
*And when I say something's too sexualized... I just don't even have anything funny to end that thought.
**Are you fucking serious? Ima repeat that. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?! She was only halfway turned into a Cyberman - now she's half woman, half machine, ALL SEXY! What, was there a magazine contest for 14 year old boys?
