40cakesDay 1 of tourisms! We got to the hotel late on Friday night (and waited 45 minutes as they couldn't find our reservation. Cue panic of tired travellers). Saturday, pre-concert, was devoted to traipsing about the Zona Rosa and checking out the cute shops and restaurants. We ended up walking clear down to Chupatelpec Park. Here's the photos I got along the way.
Robbie concert! We picked up the tickets Saturday night and walked for forty days and forty nights to get in and out of this show. There were TONS of knock-off T-shirt stands, all operating under police eye and no one seemed to care. Admittedly, this may be because the knock-off Tees had better designs than the official stuff they sold us. Robbie was FANTASTIC. Above all, he is a showman and he puts on a great performance. Sure, he sings and dances, but he chats with the audience and does bizarre little tangents. He also called out some fans in the audience who had been married for a year (a gay couple). After applauding them, he said, "Oh, do they love the cock." I ♥ Robbie.
Protest! No idea what they were chanting exactly, but we got riled up on their behalf. Yeah! Elections suck! On day 2, we hopped onto a double-decker tourist bus because not only could we be tourists and take pictures, but it picked us up and dropped us off around the city, and was cheaper than a taxi.
Here's the bulk of the photos, really. Do you love Latino architecture? Then you'll LOVE this bit. Lots of buildings, statues, churches, and the McDonald's and KFC's that now occupy history.
