Two weeks ago I shoved someone at Newark station. I've become one of THOSE commuters.

There's this magic trick by which if I miss my NYC train, I can catch the next express train, get to Newark before my usual train, and then hop back and catch my local train. So I had to perform this act, and got to Newark on time, ran to the track where my train would arrive, and hopped on the escalator. There, 3 people in front of me just stood, enjoying the ride. I figured it'd be okay, and they'd start moving as we got closer to the top. 2 people start moving. Guy directly in front of me with giant backpack stays still. I figure he'll move once we get to the top of the escalator. Guy stands still. We get off the escalator, and my train is RIGHT THERE. The doors are open, most of the people leaving the train are off. Guy stands still directly in front of me and looks around, in a crowd. I shove him aside and spit, "EXCUSE ME!" and run onto the train, just as the doors close behind me. Oy.

HAHA....the rage, the rage!!

I really hate when people stand around blocking the way, as though no one has any place to be.

Seriously. I know it can be a confusing place if you're not used to it, but WTF?

completely understandable. i personally detest the folk who get to the top/bottom of the stairs/escalator and then just STAND there in everyone's way. i get that they aren't sure where to go, but would it kill them to take a few steps forward or to the side so they're not blocking everyone's path while they consider their next move?

That's what I'm saying. I personally hate Newark and do my best to avoid being stuck in that station, hence the shoving so I can catch my train. But if you're feeling lost, you won't get found by standing still.

Well, I did see a guy jacking off on the blue line at Penn Station once.

I misread this paragraph...

The man, a foreign national in his 30s, is due to be examined by a doctor at Roxboro Garda Station later today.

...and thought it said he was due to be exterminated. A bit severe, although it would probably prevent such a thing from happening again.

I love all my Daleks icons like evil robot children. Sadly, I'm not smart enough to have made any of them, but I am smart enough to have suggested this one to the creator.
