Makeover Weekend!

40cakesMaybe it's because she was poor growing up, maybe it's because as the youngest of the first 5 kids she never really had any toys of her own, but the thing that makes my mother happiest is getting to play Barbie with me. So for Mother's Day, we went shopping and I let her make me try on ugly outfits and attempted minimal eye-rolling. I'm a teenager at heart! (As evidenced by my newly pink hair and cuts on my wrists THEY'RE SO I CAN REALLY FEEEEEEL!)
Actually, the latter is due to Willow attempting to kill me again and make it look like a suicide - I've got five big gashes on my left wrist, ALL FROM JUST HER TEETH. If I go to my parents' for a weekend and never come back, I'm telling you, the cat killed me. She wants my bed to herself.
Went shopping for new glasses with Mom, and oddly enough found a lot of stuff I liked at Walmart and Boscov's of all places (in addition to being a teenager at heart, I'm also deeply hillbilly). Took a lot of photos in hopes of polling a few people, but Boscov's had a deal for a complete set of glasses for $97. Can't beat it. So I made a decision then and there, and the glasses will be here in about 2-3 weeks. THEY HAVE RHINESTONES IN THEM! Srsly, if you're in the tri-state area, check it out - they have some nice stuff. That is the only time you'll ever hear me heartily endorse Boscov's. (Sadly I didn't go with the Fairly Oddparents brand glasses - they had terrible design, especially in comparison to Spongebob Squarepants glasses. Jerkass.)
Time to start dieting again - this weekend reminded me why I hate clothes-shopping, and that's because when I get to this size, I borderline between fat versions of skinny clothes, which aren't cut properly or in a flattering manner; or the skinny end of plus-size wear, which looks like I'm wearing big, decorative bags. Of course, I say I should diet after having just eaten a bag of cheddar beer potato chips. I'm sure my Livejournal layout doesn't help curb cravings.
