Ok, so he's a dick for implying that if she was raped she bears part of the blame for being an exotic dancer and an idiot and going back to the house after being harrassed. Even if she is a total idiot, that in no way lessens the culpability of the alleged rapists and co-conspirators.

He does bring up a good point, however, namely that the team has been labeled guilty without a trial, and that race has played an unfairly large role in the guilty-until-proven-innocent condemnation of the entire team. Cancelling the season is extreme considering there haven't even been indictments (that I'm aware of). Once indictments come down, then perhaps consider cancelling the season.

I get worried when we forget about our Constitution and allow the media to lynch people.

True, they have been suspended for the season due to this, without formal charges brought forth. If her story is true, then it's a pretty light lesson to the team on behalf of "Don't rape anybody anymore, and if you see your teammates rape people, step forward and say something." If she's a dirty, racist liar, (mostly what pisses me off isn't that he accuses her of lying in this article, but suggests that she asked for it and deserved it) then the suspension was unjust and terrible. Perhaps she is a racist woman who thought she could make these rich white boys setlle out of court and get a bunch of money off of them. I have a tendency to side with the women in cases like these, mostly because admittedly I can't fathom the mindset that would accuse someone of rape or sexual abuse/assault without it happening.

And on the race issue, if her story is true, then THEY made the race issue a huge factor when they decided to call her nigger while ORALLY, VAGINALLY, AND ANALLY RAPING HER.

Your article "Guilty 'Til Proven Innocent" is offensive to me as a person of dignity and as a person of morals. The hate your words spew toward this woman and to all women makes me wonder how you look yourself in the mirror and call yourself a man, much less how you ever've gotten laid. Have you ever had sex with a woman? Because I find it hard to imagine any woman wanting to allow a creep who writes this kind of mysognist slime to put his tiny little dick in her. Most would would rather barf.

But how you live with yourself is really your problem. The fact that someone like you is actually a professor in a school of liberal arts is what creates a problem for everyone else. The hate that comes through your language and your insistance that women are to blame for the horrible and disgusting things men do to them makes you the last person I would ever want teaching my son or daughter, my sister or brother.

You don't deserve to hold a position as a teacher. You fail.

I wouldn't call it an otherwise fine magazine given some of the other things I read there, and some of the fine establishments who advertise there.

That being said, we don't know the circumstances under which she returned. Maybe she hadn't been paid. Maybe she left her things behind when she got upset the first time. Maybe one of the nicer guys on the team coaxed her back in and apologized for the behavior of the assholes who later allegedly raped her. THAT DOES NOT GIVE THEM A FREE TICKET TO FUCK HER.
