I thought I heard Maple Story-ing last night. Did you join the third server, the one that starts with Sca-something? That's the newer one with less high levels, hence we play on that one. Casey made a new character because she likes to hit things with sharp hand-implements, it's called Nerdylicious (Casey, sp?). My character is Ravenhurst.

In other news, when Casey and I were talking about Neverwhere you said you'd have to re-read it. I left the comic books and the '96 BBC tv series at Casey's place, in case you'd care to use any of them. Casey and I have been watching the tv series and are halfway through if you'd like to catch-up and watch the rest with us next weekend.

I haven't gotten a chance to join MS yet since I was writing my article yesterday, but I will. You might've heard the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, which is insanely fucking great and I want to watch again tonight already.

The BBC tv series is only 6 episodes, and we've only watched the first 3. The comic book series is on issue 5, but they're thin. Oddly enough, issue 5 and episode 3 both end at the same point in the story. Other than bad 1996 BBC production values the TV series is quite impressive for its casting and its faithfulness to the book.

If you haven't started MS yet, then I seriously recommend reading character creation FAQs on gamefaqs.com. Since it's still an early beta, the character creation is less forgiving than large, polished MMOs like City of Heros. Right now Casey's a standard warrior class, and I'm an archer. There's a lot of mages around too, they're the most popular class and have some cool powers. Since you're an experienced MMO player, you might like the assassin or bandit classes. Bandits can steal = lots of rare drops. But either way, it's worth reading the faqs before you make your character.
