Haha - I actually could have taken a class on how to administer and interpret the real Rorschach...but I didn't because it seems ridiculous to me. Like a party trick. :P
And now, thanks to this game, it's a real party trick!
I never got far enough in my psych degree to get to Rorschachs, but we did get to watch a neat video about the people who followed authority to the point of believing they had killed someone for not giving correct answers. And me thinking that video was "neat" probably is the best reason I can give for not finishing that degree. "What do you mean it's 'unethical' to perform experiments like that! Nobody really got hurt! C'mon!"
Hah - you're talking about Milgram's shock experiment - I've seen that video several times...it's fascinating. Did you also see the video about the Stanford Prison Experiment?
It was done in the 70's. The researcher had a mock prison in the basement of the psych building at Stanford. Participants were randomly assigned as "prisoners" or "guards". It was a fascinating experiment on how people take on roles...the prisoners started going crazy and getting violent and the guards started using force on the prisoners. These were just regular old college students. So...the experiment was ended early because the researcher was afraid of what would happen if it continued. Cool stuff...but unethical and that type of research would never be funded today!
I DO remember that! See, that's another classic that I'd love to replicate. Also, I think it'd be funny to start a rollicking game of Baby vs. Lobster at the office, so it's best I don't have a PhD, come to think of it.
There are always pregnant ladies/new moms here at the office, right? Last year, for secret Santa, someone got a live lobster. Surely on any given day, someone has a baby in the office. I think people would bet cash money on watching them fight.
It would be even better after a game of Settlers, since we will already have sexual things on our mind. "I want wood. I need wood real bad. Give me some wood!" "Move the buttplug! It hurts Kirk the most in that position!"
LOL...ahh, Settlers conversation.
Aaron and I bought Settlers...although we probably should have bought the extension pack as well so we could have a mega-game.
