1. bernardelli insurance:
   After lbbastard's post today, I don't know that I want to go into this...
   
   Bernardelli is where Meryl and Milly work in Trigun. This is one of those interests that's more there to see who else has it.
2. cupcakes:
   Dude. Tiny pieces of cake neatly wrapped in paper, topped in PURE COLORFUL SUGAR. Do you really need an explanation?
3. feminism:
   Feminism gets a bad rap, but I like it. I like my right to vote, my right to fetuskillin', my right to wear pants, and my right to uncomfortable yet adorable footwear. I also think it's disgusting to read about women in other countries who just want the right not to worry about being raped and murdered every day.
4. hellsing:
   Hellsing is an anime about a bunch of Protestants in England who hunt and kill vampires and monsters. And Nazis. I think a Hellsing/Indiana Jones crossover would be funny.

5. jem:
   Jem is truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous. Contagious. Jem is her name, no one else is the same, Jem is her name. Though the Misfits' songs ARE better.
   
   Doesn't anyone in the band have issues with the lead singer singing a song about how awesome she is?
6. mars:
   Not the planet, the manga. Mars is everything I should technically hate. No sci-fi element, no awesome villains, no incredibly good-looking characters or kickass women. It's a high school love story about a delinquent and a shy girl, and you know from page 1 that they're going to end up happily in love forever and ever amen. And yet I bought 15 volumes of it. What? It's sweet and cute :3
7. new york:
   New York, New York, what a wonderful town; the Bronx is up and the Battery's down.
   
   Man is that ever a dumb song.
8. queen of wands:
   Queen of Wands is a webcomic I've devoted a few years of my life to reading. I also have a bunch of icons from it. I heart Queen of Wands. Once, jaina and I had a discussion about the origins of the title. Since she's Wiccan, I assume it comes from the Tarot card. However, given the subject matter in the comic, it could just as easily come from an allusion to vibrators, really.
9. something positive:
   Another webcomic I love. S*P rules! Penny Arcade is always a quality laugh, but no continuity. Queen of Wands had a lot of long storylines, but was just too melodramatic. S*P? Great merging of continuity and humour and just enough emotions when it wants to go there.
10. vast:
    VAST is pretty awesome. I remember playing the first album for Susan in the car, and her being horrified that "Pretty When You Cry" (involving the lyrics "I didn't wanna fuck you, but you're pretty when you're mine...I didn't really love you, but I'm pretty when I lie") was followed by a song about Jesus and sin and the horrors of rejecting Heaven's love for a secular one.

I forget if it was in your "Time Out New York" or my "New York Magazine," but I recall an article about the cupcake boom. Then they had a blind taste test and the critics said nasty things. I can't imagine taking cupcakes that seriously! I mean, it's a cupcake, that's nice =)
