Transporter #1 at Box Office: "The Transporter 2" delivered for Fox on a surprisingly strong Labor Day weekend, setting a new record for the holiday with a $20.3 million four-day bow. Pic, which hit 3,303 screens, set a new record for a Labor Day debut, beating 2003's "Jeepers Creepers 2," the previous record holder with $18.5 million. (Variety)

...wait. Are you serious? The biggest Labor Day opening before this was Jeeper Creepers 2? Are you fucking serious?

This was in this morning's Daily Candy, and am copying and pasting so I can go home and download these songs later:

No sense living in denial. Summer’s over. Time to drop the "iced" from your morning coffee order, lengthen your shirt sleeves, and trade in breezy summer jams for something a little heavier and a lot more rockin’.

We’re reloading the Shuffle, cranking the volume, and kicking off the unofficial start of fall with the first-ever DailyCandy playlist, our soundtrack for the season.

1. “Tusk,” by Fleetwood Mac
(You’re not letting go of your peasant skirt just yet.)

2. “Dance Me In,” by Sons and Daughters
(We all have needs. Needs to rock, that is.)

3. “Might as Well,” by Something for Rockets
(Not to be confused with Something for Rockettes, although you will get your kicks.)

4. “Portions for Foxes,” by Rilo Kiley
(Their pop rock is anything but bad news.)

5. “Stay Loose,” by Belle and Sebastian
(Moody, but far from the blues.)

6. “Thirteen,” by Big Star
(Proof that teenagers are people, too.)

7. “After Hours,” by Phantom Planet
(More than California dreaming.)

8. “Destination Diamonds,” by Diamond Nights
(Revs the music engine of your mind.)

9. “Over and over Again (Lost & Found),” by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
(Just do as they say.)

10. “High Art, Local News,” by The New Pornographers
(New and exciting, but not in that way.)

11. “Speaking in Tongues,” by Eagles of Death Metal
(Stuck between rock and a hard place.)

12. “What We All Want,” by Gang of Four
(Perfect for when the gang’s all there.)

13. “The Comeback,” by Shout Out Louds
(Twisting and shouting comes with the territory.)

14. “Common People,” by Pulp
(Six minutes in music heaven.)

But knowledge is half the battle...the other 50% is spelling and punctuation?

Eloquence? Enunciation?

In other news: Rilo Kiley became pop music! T_T

I had the refrain from Portions for Foxes as my ringtone for months, so when people called my phone would say "It's bad news, baby it's bad news/ it's just bad news, bad news, bad news."

BTW

Jeeper Creepers 2 is the golden turd in the pantheon of shit movies.

i am glad i didnt see either one of the creepers films in the theater, but they still got me to waste hours of my life watching it on cable.
