4. The geek factor. Sorry, but we have a name for people whose primary source of entertainment stems from stuff that didn't really happen. They're called Trekkies.
Hold up.. I know logic. There's another word for the genre of entertainment that stems from stuff that didn't really happen. It's called fiction.
So logically, Mr. Banks dislikes all movies not based on a true story, all television except the history chanel, all artwork that is not a photograph, and all books that are not history books. So I may be a geek, but he's a profoundly dull person.
And don't get me started on the epistemological justification of report and memory...
Don't you know? Sci-fi fans are total losers but grown men whose lives hinge on giant men rushing into each other are totally awesome.
Also, I have a feeling trekkies and fantasy football enthusiasts wouldn't really chill with each other a whole lot. Maybe a little crossover, but not much. Think Venn diagram.
I know! I recognize you by your ST and Will Shatner icons!
I mean, there's something for everybody, and there's always crossover with weird interests. I think the guy who wrote this article wanted to pick an easy target. Really, how many football enthusiasts wouldn't laugh at "Hah, hah. Trekkies."
I dislike FF because it's boring. I love football, but all that stats crap bores the hell out of me. I hate fiddling around with numbers. I'm really mostly about home-town pride and drama. And, you know, the game, watching the damn game and eating nachos and drinking beer. It's a social thing, not a hide-in-my-room-and-make-diagrams thing.

I LOVE how it makes heroes out of problem players- because people are getting to know ALL the players.
I'll bet his team this year just sucks.
