Fire Walk with Me

So does anybody know anything about fire walking? I think I'd like to do that, as it sounds neat and I eternally need external badass validation. I've been checking out some places online, but they all want to have week-long seminars and focus on your inner being and aligning your chakras blah blah blah, and I'm all, "No, just want to burn my feet on coals plzkthx."

Anyone, anyone? Or does anyone want to come with if I find a place? You don't have to walk, you can just take pictures so I can prove how faboo I am.

i saw a special on the disovery channel for that. it helps to have sweaty feet right before you do it.

Theories as to why your feet don't burn:

The Leidenfront Effect suggests that moisture on the bottoms of walkers' feet creates a vapor barrier between the foot and the coals.

The Conductivity Theory hypothesizes that coals are poor conductors of heat, so that no matter how high the temperature of the coals, they won't burn a walker's feet.

Many other crazy people think it's possible because the energy of those assembled matches the energy of the fire. Others believe the body is able to cool and protect itself. Most believe that the walker's mental state is key and that firewalking shows how our thoughts can affect our surroundings.

Yeah, I believe it's the low conductivity that keeps you from burning. But it always looks cool - as long as you don't tell everyone what the temperature of smoldering wood is.

If you can do it while the wood is actually on fire, of course, then yes, you are one scary-tough individual.
