Because I have easily accessible, non-secret news about television, and you don't
Comedy Central: What started out as a parody on Comedy Central's Daily Show with Jon Stewart will become part of the network's lineup this fall as the network revamps its late-night schedule. Comedy Central President Doug Herzog introduced three new shows.
- The Colbert Report in which Stewart sidekick Stephen Colbert will take dead aim at arrogant cable talk-show hosts for a likely September debut.
- Colbert and a series from former Man Show co-host Adam Corolla will compete for the post-Stewart slot, with the other airing at midnight ET. Corolla will lampoon pop culture and news events in an untitled series.
I'm thinking the Colbert show will be at midnight. If it launches first, maybe it'll start out in the 11:30 slot, to gain viewers tuning in after TDS, but then when the Corolla show starts, Colbert will get moved to midnight. That way, Comedy Central can try to weasle an extra half hour of viewing from TDS fans too lazy to pick up the remote between shows. And let's face it, since most of us are the type of people who ONLY get our news from TDS, I can believe a good deal of us are too lazy.
=^..^=
ETA: As you're TIVO-ing the May sweeps, please note the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline series set to debut on UPN on May 17 has a new title: Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. And I suppose with a baby on the way, that title is an understatement.
