An actual real-life sorta update!
Mar. 28th, 2005 09:40 amWARNING: This post will be devoid of anything fandom related, except for a mention of Samurai Champloo, Trigun, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And as all those mentions take place in this warning, it's smooth sailing from here on in.
Youprobably didn't know may have noticed that I haven't posted one of those little weight meters recently. That's because I had a week where I was really good and basically ate english muffins for every meal and didn't have any snacks and drank water like a catfish. Then I went to the parents' on Saturday and ate like a queen and gained .2 pounds. And yes, I know if anyone else were bitching about gaining a fifth of a pound, I'd beat them, but it's that I tried so hard and then INSTEAD of losing something, I gained a miniscule amount. Bugger. So I took a week off, ate like a pig, and now I'm getting back to it. I even baked 1 point cupcakes for the AIDS fundraiser at work!
Started new job and I love it. First couple days were very slow, but it started picking up. I really like the people in my department (it's certainly easier working with a bunch of people around my own age instead of being the kid of the department). I'm still an assistant, but I'm an assistant helping people doing things I care about. Today, I'm going to talk to my boss about sending a big thank you gift to Fabio. How fun is that? In my old department, I'd run down to Duane Reade to pick up a Thank You card for my boss to send to some cop that helped us with security on something. Snooze.
Because I went from hourly wages to salaried, that means I get an extra week of pay in this upcoming check. Don't ask how that works, because I can only sort of explain it, but it's best said in person when I can make hand gestures. Since I'll be about $200 overdrawn in my checking account if my rent check goes through before my paycheck, I think I'll pretty much break even. If not, I will invest in laptop RAM and maybe a PS2.
License plates for my car STILL aren't in. For those keeping up, it's two months now. Bugger bugger bugger. Am very upset about this, as temp plates end on a week day that isn't Friday. Also, I hate that blind spot in my back window where it hangs.
Easter was lovely and I practically rolled myself home after finishing my Easter basket in a record two days. In my defense, it was a record light basket, with mostly M&Ms. My Easter gift was my mom making a payment on my Boscov's charge, and getting my suit out of the dry cleaners. Being an adult sucks.
