40cakesStep One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1. Icons. I'm bored of some of the ones I have now, and need a change. Preferably Azumanga Daioh, Legend of Black Heaven, Pretear, KaleidoStar, Kare Kano, Lupin III, or GTO, though I'd never say no to Trigun, Utena, or Sailor Moon.
2. New LJ Layout or background. As much as I love almost naked Akio, I've gotten a little tired of him, plus it's not really worksafe, ne? Any of the above fandoms work, or if you have something pretty in purple. Or kitties.
3. Smut in which someone uses the phrase "Stocking Stuffer" as double entendre.
4. Good Gojyo/Hakkai. I haven't found that much, but I think they're fun. If you don't feel like writing anything, recs totally work, too.
5. I've wanted a PS2 for almost a year now. My paypal address is empressgalaxia at yahoo.com. :3
6. Still waiting on my free iPod. Please?
7. Anything Sanrio. At all. Really. Is it cute? I'm all about cute.
8. I'm also all about porn. AdultFanFiction.Net seems to have hit some monetary troubles again. Make a charitable donation.

here are my bookmarks of recs...The more recent ones are better.
These are my absolute faves:
Into Bed by lebateleur - Gojyo in beautiful denial and Hakkai immovable like rock. Hilarious and hot.
42 Days by KarotsaMused - Pre-relationship. Just after their reunion, sweet with a tinge of angst and some great interactions
Sleepless by louiselux - Realization fic. Beautifully in-character and is one of those fics where the situation is just...balanced on some edge, trembling.
Rise by viridian5 - Established relationship. Gojyo wants in Sanzo's pants, but he's not exactly one for the planning and plotting...so, Hakkai helps.
What Grass Says - by EvilStorm - Friendship fic. Not only is the dynamics of a friendship beautifully displayed but you also have *them*, as characters, being perfectly *in-character* in a friendship.
Awakening by tj_dragonblade (part 2 and part 3) - Realization fic. Two people finding each other in the rain.
Limiter by Bhex - First time. Gojyo decides Hakkai is a bit too restrained...::cough, leers::
Moonlight by XeroSky - Established relationship. Features a darker Hakkai and a peeved Gojyo.
Kitchen Love by absenceofmind - Established relationship. Brilliant and gorgeous. I can never completely get over how much I adore this fic.
The Thing It Names by Nightfall Rising - Pre-relationship. Superb introspective piece. Killer last line.
Elsewhere by MJJ - This is painful and bright, the author calls it her Sept. 11 story. It's where the rebuilding is like destruction; like breaking a bone, so that it could be re-set properly. Set during the 3 years they were roommates.
Mikawari by MJJ - Is good for reading after the previous fic, though it's angsty in its own way. Beautiful characterizations and also set in during the 3 years.
Stay by Viridian5 - great Gojyo character piece in relation to Gonou. pre-relationship
Transient by X-parrot - Pre-relationship. The wistfulness of a sense-memory that comes out poetic. Killer last line.
