She didn't believe in lovemaking.

Fujiko had told him as much once, laughing, when he used the term.

She had been around the block so many times, they named the streets after her. She knew the young men to the old men. She "ooh"ed and "aah"ed and shouted underneath them, then clutched her pillow and said they were the best she'd ever had (and steal a wallet or a deed or three on her way out).

It was always sex. THere was no love, just her body.

And then one day, she let him in (figuratively and literally).

She believed.
