Stuff and Junk and Stuff
Aug. 23rd, 2006 03:51 pmFeeling sleepy today. Must fight urge to go to candy machine. And/or gelato place. And/or bakery with chocolate puddin'. Etc.
The other day I acquired an overwhelming sense of respect for the documentarians of Winged Migration. There was a Pudgy Little Birdie⢠behind my car, and I tried to sneak up on him to take a camera phone picture. No such luck. He heard me a mile away. He hopped away, and coninued hopping to the point where I worried that he couldn't fly (no worries - he could). These are the things on my mind.
Anyone have salad recommendations? I really hate salad, and I think this is mostly due to hating lettuce. Hate hate hate. I hate iceberg, I hate romaine, I hate whatever type that is that essentially looks like I'm eating a bowl fulla oak leaves. But I like veggies - radishes, carrots, cucumber, celery, tomatoes (fruit poser), and I'm even getting to like onions - whoa! Most of what makes me choose a greasy Panini or a "hearty" soup instead of a salad for lunch is that the choose-your-own salads even start out as "pick which giant bowl full of lettuce you want so we can sprinkle other stuff on it". And knowing that I won't put much of a dent in the giant bowl of lettuce while I eat everything around it makes me feel wasteful. Kirk said he'll bring me a spinach salad one of these days, since I like spinach with other things, but I wanted to see if anyone else had suggestions.
