Help!

So my contract with Cingular runs out in April, and I've had enough problems with them that I don't want to renew. Who has good deals on phones and calling plans? I honestly don't use the phone that much, but we don't have a land line in my apartment so I need SOMETHING. A friend told me pay-as-you-go doesn't provide the same coverage as paying a monthly plan. Thoughts? Help?

I'll probably continue to use a razor to shave during the warm months, as I prefer a razor and gel to a chemical reaction I don't understand. But man, is this good when we're coming out of winter and my legs look like a beast.
