Step 2: Put all of your music on random.
Step 3: Write down the first fifteen songs it plays, no matter how embarrassing.
1. Sonia - Zuttodakishimeteite
2. matchbox 20 - If You're Gone
3. Tenchi Muyo! - Dimension of Love (Japanese)
4. Josie and the Pussycats - You're a Star
5. Natalie Merchant - San Andreas Fault
6. DDR - Boom Boom Dollar
7. Blessid Union of Souls - Oh Virginia
8. WeiB Kreuz - Beautiful Alone (remix)
9. Moxy Früvous - Lazy Boy
10. Beatles - Come Together
11. Billy Joel - The Longest Time
12. Billy Joel - Keeping the Faith
13. Moxy Früvous - You're Still the One
14. Uncle Kracker - Follow Me
15. Blink 182 - Christmas Song
With all the great songs I have, those are the 15 it picks.
1. Your favorite song with the name of a city in the title or text.
Eagles - New York Minute
2. A song you've listened to repeatedly when you were depressed at some point in your life.
Lucy Nation - Alright
3. Ever bought an entire album just for one song and wound up disliking everything but that song?
Eve 6 - Whatever album had "Inside Out" on it.
4. A song whose lyrics you thought you knew in the past, but about which you later learned you were incorrect.
I'm usually pretty good with this, and curious enough that if I don't know the words, I look them up. Sorry.
5. Your least favorite song on one of your favorite albums of all time.
The reason certain albums are my favourites are because I enjoy the entire album, or if I dislike a particular song, I don't dislike it so much that I can think of it now. But on the album More of the Monkees, there's this spoken word piece by Davy Jones called "The Day We Fall in Love." I say, "Shut up, Davy," and skip to the next track as soon as I possibly can. I think that may be the most hated "song" on any CD I own.
6. A song you like by someone you find physically unattractive or otherwise repellent.
"The Dope Show" by Marilyn Manson
7. Your favorite song that has expletives in it that's not by Liz Phair.
Nine Inch Nails - Closer (That sure was easy)
8. A song that sounds as if it's by someone British but isn't.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop
9. A song you like (possibly from your past) that took you forever to finally locate a copy of.
When I was a freshman in high school, there was this little half hour show on public access that showed Christian rock music videos. I saw this video called "Railroad" by Dakota Motor Company, and really dug it. Almost graduating college, I stumble across a copy of the album in the dollar bin at FYE. Turns out I liked the video, and that was it.
10. A song that reminds you of spring but doesn't mention spring at all.
Moby & Gwen Stefani - Southside. Because I don't have a song that reminds me of spring, and I'm tired of trying to think one up.
11. A song that sounds to you like being happy feels.
Chobits Opening Theme. C'mon!
12. Your favorite song from a non-soundtrack compilation album.
...I don't think I have one of those.
13. A song from your past that would be considered politically incorrect now (and possibly was then).
Fuck if I know.
14. A song sung by an overweight person.
...I have an mp3 by Heart.
15. A song you actually like by an artist you otherwise hate.
Britney Spears - Overprotected. SHUT UP! I liked it from playing her dance beat video game.
...SHUTUP!
16. A song by a band (whose members actually play instruments) that features three or more female members.
Bangles - Eternal Flame
17. One of the earliest songs that you can remember listening to.
Janis Joplin - Mercedes Benz
18. A song you've been mocked by friends for liking.
I have two Reba McEntire albums. From before she was popular for a wacky comedy about stupid teens.
19. A really good cover version you think no one else has heard.
Ahmet and Dweezil Zappa - Baby Hit Me One More Time, also Jim Carrey - I Am the Walrus
20. A song that has helped cheer you up (or empowered you somehow) after a breakup or otherwise tough situation.
Imani Coppola - Legend of a Cowgirl is a real "Grr! Girl power!" song.
21. A song you've listened to while having sex.
Oh please, honey, where do I start?
22. A song not in English, preferably a foreign-language version of an English-language hit.
I have "The Boy Is Mine" in Korean, thanks to
jaina.
