Fun conversations with parents.

As I'm getting ready to leave for work, my mom and I are exchanging the "remember to..." pleasantries. Before I go, she says, "You know, you really should decide" what you're going to do after graduation, is how the sentence usually ends. Today it ends with, "whether or not you'd like to have children."

"Huh? What?" Pause. "WHAT?!"

"You know. I mean, if you're gonna end up with Rob, I don't know if you'd want any, because he's got that thing in his family..."

"Parkinson's."

"Right."

"And I've got hemophilia. And we both have heart disease. And obesity. And Daddy's had about 20 strokes. Though I think the most important thing is that I'm impatient, self-centered, irresponsible, and I hate children."

"Well, I'm just saying."

"I have to go to work now. Goodbye." :: leaves for work with stupid expression on face. takes Pill ::

Your mother is psycho. That talk you had with her was like my drug talk with my dad. He goes "no drugs and walks away" in the middle of home improvement when they did that drug episode.

Parents piss me off.
