I like Get Fuzzy, and I also liked the live-action Scooby Doo flick, but something about this doesn't set right with me. From Animation World News:

BEAUTY & THE BEAST DIRECTOR MAKES LIVE-ACTION DEBUT WITH GET FUZZY.
LION KING- director Rob Minkoff's Sprocketdyne Entertainment has signed a deal with United Media to transform Darby Conley's comic strip GET FUZZY into a CGI-enhanced live-action feature, reported DAILY VARIETY. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME director Kirk Wise will be making his live-action debut on the project. Wise has been developing the project with Conley. Minkoff and his partner Jason Clark will produce the picture, with their Sprocketdyne vp of development Warren Davis co-producing. The witty comic follows single, good-natured ad man, Rob Wilco, and his moody cat Bucky and laid-back dog Satchel.

[Edited to add this. Wee, miser.]

FELLOWSHIP & TWO TOWER EXTENDED EDITIONS COMING TO THEATERS.
In anticipation of the release of the final film in the series, New Line Cinema has decided to release the extended editions of THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING and THE TWO TOWERS. FELLOWSHIP will be released on December 5, 2003 in approximately 150 screens across North America followed by TWO TOWERS on December 12. Some theaters will present the two films back-to-back on December 8 and 15. Then, on December 16, participating theaters will show a one-time-only marathon of both Extended Editions followed by an 11 pm screening of THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING. The official opening of THE RETURN OF THE KING will be December 17, 2003.

I've already informed T what my bday present will be... I just need to find the closest theater showing all three movies!

I was hoping New Line would do this. After my latest miserable movie-going experience, the only movie I want to see in the theater EVER AGAIN is the Lord of the Rings trilogy, in its entirety.

We went to see 'S.W.A.T.' The movie was okay, but the sound system was a tad too loud, the screen looked like it had the mange, and two boys in the row behind us were kicking the seats. By the end of the movie I was ready to chew nails into staples.

I could've moved, I guess. I probably should've. The theater was all but empty. Still, my back ain't nobody's coffee table.

Lord! Enough with the Rings already!

I like those movies so far, but Jesus Horatio Christ! Could anyone possibly sit through EXTENDED versions of the first two films back to back? And then spend an additional twenty-three days watching the third one? That's not enjoying films, that a career.

Or a fetish maybe.

They're actually installing special theater seats that flush.

That's a lie. But they should. Because anyone crazy enough to pay to sit through all three in a row is crazy enough to not take restroom breaks, and there's gonna be a helluva mess to clean up.

"They're actually installing special theater seats that flush."

Oh lord - no lie, I seriously just laughed so hard I coughed up about a pound of congestion. Double thanks are due!
