One of my favourite quotes is "To find out who you are, go where you don't have to be anything else." Some people can only define themselves through comparison to others. They're the ones who can't handle being one of a huge group. They have to be the one who was actually watching anime and teaching themselves Japanese IN THE WOMB and watched subs even before they could read.

I sure does hate them people.

I stopped going to mine because while I wanted to see the shows, I couldn't deal with the *people*... I became very bored with having it implied that I wasn't otaku enough, especially when I couldn't help being aware of what the social status of otaku *is.* ~g~

Ugh, Otaku snobbery, what fun. ^^ There really isn't anything else like it. Now granted, I can be a bit of a snob in many respects, but I'm also laid back enough to just not give a rat's ass about what others think. The only thing that annoys me is when someone sits behind me in the Dealer's Room line, yammers on and on and on about Digimon, and then steals my french fries. >.<

Yeah, I noticed how half of our group wound up on the other side of the room the line was taking place in. *snark* And I'll be they did, too! "Got any Digimon Doujinshi! You better have some Digimon Artbooks!" "Um, that'll be $55 miss."

Dude, I was seriously about to bite her fingers off if she had reached towards my chest ONE MORE TIME to get another one of my fries. And remember how she kind of wormed her way ahead of us? OOooo, she moved up five more people, good for her, that'll get her inside faster. *snorts* That was her plan, annoy the SHIT out of us and then move in front when we're getting ready to boot her ass. ^^
