Since yesterday was endless posts of misery, here's a kitty in a sweater. I don't know how he feels about the sweater, because when I put him in it, he does his damndest to get back out, but he's purring the whole time. Curious.

Went to the gyno today and amongst all the regular checkup stuff, asked her about an IUD. She didn't try to turn me off of it, which was nice. The price is a bit steep, though. Nice to know insurance won't cover it. That's a big help there, doods. It costs a lot, but it lasts for 10 years, and spending $30/month on the pill adds up quickly. Basically, what I'd spend on an IUD for 10 years is what I spend on pills in three and a half years. Maybe I can do some fund-raising.

My sister -- who shall henceforth be known as the Kitty Whisperer -- told me that he's purring because you're paying attention to him and giving him love, so he's pleased, but he might be trying to get out of the sweater because he's hot.

So take that as you will. But he looks SO cute in a sweater. :)

I have an IUD and I'm pretty happy with it, the cramping and spotting are annoying but getting better every month (I got it in late July). Just, dude, does it ever hurt like a ho bitch ass motherfucker when you get it put in. Don't work the next day. I tried and had to go home.

Thanks for the info! I'd heard from a couple people that it's crazy painful discomfort getting it put in, but I hadn't heard anything about the day after. My gyno quoted it for me at about $1200, so I won't get it anytime soon, but I'm definitely thinking about it. Maybe I will start taking a collection at work :)

WOW, that much?! I guess you have to pay for the procedure and stuff? Here it was just the money for the IUD itself, which I think was about $200.

The really ho bitch ass motherfucker pain is only for a second or two at the office, but (at least I found) that there was a LOT of cramping the next day and even really the first month after I got it as my body adjusted.
