One fifth of Americans are unable to find the US on a map because the education gap between ethnic groups in this country is so large. It is typically black students who do most poorly in school and asian students recieve the best scores. Therefore the best rememdy for this is to have the asian kids tutor the black kids. Unfortunately, to get to Asia you have to go through Iraq, so we have to figure out that whole problem with the Middle East before we can get to Asia and get those smart asians to help the dumb black African Americans.
She's obviously nervous, and I get the sense that she memorized a few different speeches or talking points in preparation for this segment, and just got confused and garbled her words. Like someone coached her into saying, "Just talk about Iraq and South Africa!"
That's pretty much the only answer I can come up with for what happened there. Or maybe someone prepared a pithy response for her about education in Iraq and South Africa and her brain went "Hey, this is about education? Maybe?"
here's what i think happened: she got really, really nervous:
Brain: Okay, why can't people find the U.S. on a map? People can't identify american on a map because.. they don't LOOK at maps. they don't LOOK at maps because they dont' HAVE maps! Probs b/c they're poor lolz.
Mouth: I personally believe that u.s. americans can't do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps.
Brain: whew, close call but i got throu- shit, 20 seconds left. ummm, okay okay, think... say something about iraq, africa, helping, education, asia, and close with "the future".
Mouth: brasweasrllkahslflfhhhhh;
I actually think she only said south africa because she's from south carolina and combined the name of her state with the name of the 'poor continent' she wants 'education' to 'help', and just happened to hit on the name of a country. of every place in africa, south africa probably needs the least help.
I'm glad all the trains stop at The Iraq, since that's a high-traffic place, but if the green line is ever down for the weekend, how is anyone gonna get back to the future??
Maybe that's the map 1/5 of Americans look at, because I don't see the US on it either.
