Jul. 6th, 2007 08:35 am- Microsoft says it will take more than a $1 billion write-down to pay for an extended warranty of the Xbox 360 due to an "unacceptable number of repairs" being reported. Customers will now get three years for failures indicated by the dreaded three flashing red lights on the console. The company said it will reimburse customers out of warranty who already paid for repairs. Microsoft shipped 11.6 million Xbox 360s as of the end of June.
