The first fall freshman series to get a full season pickup - Heroes on NBC. The network has ordered the back nine, giving the full complement of 22 episodes.

Oh, fuck me. At least there's this to cheer me up:

Sci Fi Channel has ordered more episodes of Superhero. The original order of the show which is scheduled to premiere its second season this summer, was for 6 episodes and that has now been upped to 10. Nash Entertainment and Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment will produce the game/reality series looking for the next great superhero. The winner of the game will be made into a comic book superhero.

YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY.

It's all a sekrit plot to drive Casey insane with programming decisions. Ahahaha. Mwahahaha. BWAHAHAHAHA!

Though really, I think there are much more hateable shows than Heroes on this season.

Dude! I will totally watch Superhero with you this time around, I just got lazy lst time.

The whole Misogyny thing?

So who is putting out the winner's comic?

That was the start, but there was also the absence of logic and likeable characters, and the fact that they've scheduled the end of the world for November Sweeps. Not the season finale, mind you. November sweeps.

Lost has taken place over the course of 40-50 days, and has been on the air for two seasons, estimating it at about 44 episodes. Not sure what your point is.

A lot of shows don't know if they're going to get picked up. It doesn't mean you schedule the Apocalypse for episode 3, just in case.

I'm having a hard time seeing Heroes as a continuing series. I could see it as a mini-series... but for several seasons, I just don't know.

WHY MUST YOU HATE HIRO?

And I think this totally outs me as a comic book nerd (like you didn't already know this) but I'm most interested in how their powers will be used in tandem in a combat scenario.

Hiro Rules!

I will see your comic nerdiery and raise it by two by saying...

Also if you think about it it seems that the 2 female characters are going to be the Tanks of the group where as the men have more passive powers telepathy, visions, flight, and time control.

We just need to give "the Cheerleader" some claws and have "the Stripper" toss her at whoever is goign to cause trouble.

But given the Stripper's weird lunatic evil twin powers, she might just eat the Cheerleader instead.

I'm not sure, really. I like it all right, enough to follow for a bit, though I won't be writing fanfiction for it or anything. And I think claims of misogyny are a little overblown--it doesn't have a variety of strong female characters, yeah, but imho the worst you could say is misogyny-by-omission--despite the fact that one character is a stripper, I don't see anything like "women are weak and useless or whores! Or all three!!!!" There's MUCH worse stuff out there. And I may be too optimistic sometimes, but I have hope that the women can develop. I'm already happy they seem to be avoiding the "vapid bitch" cliche for the cheerleader.

If it's Stan Lee, probably Marvel or one of their independent spin-offs.

Nah, tis Dark Horse.

Oh, and Dark Horse does the Superhero comics. Which means that in Stan Lee's little office in the show, the only creation he has up is Striperella, since Marvel is protective :)
