I'm sitting at my desk and supposed to be working on a really fun and awesome project, and instead have writer's block. So, like, give me an idea and I'll write a drabble to make my inspiration start flowing.

Before she could finish, a thud crashed down behind them. They both saw a hazy figure shimmer and move, then leap as if it was attacking. From between them, a black and orange shape staved it off. One creature was almost human; the other was monstrous. They flew away, continuing their fight elsewhere.

As Kyon only gaped, Haruhi's voice rang clear throughout the city:
