Oy. Very busy at work, little time to catch up. Fourth of July weekend was a pile of fun. Most of the activities took place on Monday, 7/3, for we are odd. We visited Angelo's house and hung out in the above-ground pool, discussing how someone could possibly drown in an above-ground pool, and if this was a viable plot for a thriller. We also devised a variety of lobster-related pool sports, as Kirk had a bunch of plastic lobsters in his trunk from last summer - lobster ball (played by hitting a pitched lobster with a water noodle), lobster basket (played with a basketball hoop), etc. There was a barbecue and video games and Dreamcast fishing and it was splendid. That evening, there was sunburn, which is less splendid.
The remaining days were spent dorking out by watching anime and Doctor Who and movies. Whoot.

Last week, I got to go to the Games for Change conference. It was alright. Me and the other woman work sent listened very attentively, but as we're not game designers and aren't in the game industry, we didn't exactly learn a lot. On the first day, we learned that they had wireless internet, so on the second day we brought in our laptops. There was less listening that day, as I spent the time looking at the games people were presenting and trying not to shout "RUN, DAMMIT, RUN!" to Darfur is Dying. Also, not giggling myself silly while playing Don't Push the Button (made it ALL THE WAY THROUGH) and the McDonald's Video Game (not affiliated with McDonald's).

Work has been very busy, but today I had a meeting with one of my bosses, and she really likes my writing and thinks I'm funny, and I'm pretty sure this is a good thing. She even gave me a couple projects to work on! EEEE.

This weekend should be nice. Kirk and I are going into the city on Sunday, don't know what we'll be doing Saturday. Probably going to the parents' next weekend, and hopefully Dad's afghan will be finished by then. I'm about 60% done, methinks.
