Smooshy Smooch Der Smoochen
Jun. 13th, 2006 07:38 pm[The post I meant to make that was sent to someone else's community, the poor bastard]
My iPod goes through cycles of bands it likes. For a while it couldn't get enough of Bright Eyes and Death Cab, then some Spice Girls, then Vast. Now it's set on Hard-Fi. Kirk and I were talking about music some evening car ride, and he asked, "So when did you start listening to Hard-Fi?" I thought about it, and said, "I remember listening to a couple of the songs during the breakup with Rob, so I guess...wow. A little over a year."
Time flies when you're having fun! I looked up our anniversary date (August 26, honey!) because we could remember that our first date was on a Friday towards the end of August, but not the exact date.* I can't believe it's been almost a year.
It's been slow enough at work that I had time to clean off my desk, and I found an old fortune I had taped to my desk. I must've gotten it in between hiking on Bear Mountain and going on our date. It says, "Great things happen when men and mountains meet." Hee. 2006 has been a pretty damn good year and it makes me happy. Here's to the next 6 months.
*Coincidentally, the day Rob and I broke up was June 26, so maybe 26s are my super-happy star-aligning awesome days. Or maybe just 26s in summer. I should play the lottery.
