Watched a bunch of Doctor Who over the weekend, and we are now into the new series. Yeah, just finally catching up to everyone else! Today at work I told someone I watched a lot of Dr. Who, and they replied, "Doctor No?"

"No, Doctor Who!"

"Who's on first?"

This is a crossover that needs to happen. COMEDY GOLD, OBVIOUSLY.

On a side note, I find David Tennant very pretty, though sometimes when viewed from a certain angle, he looks like he sports a faux-hawk. However, between this and Harry Potter, I have been convinced that he's not a terribly good actor.

David Bowie would be a good Doctor, I'd stake my livejournal on it.

Also, Sean Connery would be the best Bond villain EVER.

What did you think of Doctor nine, Christopher Eccleston? What do you think of it so far, any episodes you liked or disliked?

Mystery commenter, ooh!

I thought Christopher Eccleston did a smashing job. He was serious, he was friendly, he was witty, and when he was supposed to be terrified or brilliantly happy or incredibly angry, it felt like the Doctor was all those things. I mean, I realize the series, like much of BBC sci-fi, is camp, but David Tennant is...when the Doctor is supposed to be terrified or brilliantly happy or incredibly angry, I just feel ACTING! "Ooh, the Face of Bode is dying and is supposed to impart important words to a wanderer, the last of his kind, a god. Look! That's his serious face. Can you feel the introspection?"

Though Doctor Cassandra was pretty awesome.

Ah-ha! I knew I'd convert someone!

Tennant gets better, actually. "Tooth and Claw" is worth it if for no other reason than he actually gets to use his own Scottish accent and "School Reunion" is incredibly awesome - if really clearly pandering to the fact that Tennant is himself a ginormous fanboy. Plus, y'know, Giles!

And Mickey is totally the Riley Finn of the series.

I'm with the Eccleston love, though - he's so incredibly damaged and it is nothing short of brilliant.

And, as a side note, I'm still puzzling over the fact that there *hasn't* been a crossover such as above. Or that no one's done the obvious Monty Python reference ("This Doctor is no more! He is deceased! If he were not regenerated, he'd be pushing up the daises! He's singing the bleedin' choir invisible! This is an ex-Doctor!")
