And now, adult swim news.
New series highlights:
Death Clock Metalocalypse – premiering in August, a comedy about the world's most popular heavy metal rock band, whose members leave devastation and chaos in their wake.
Frisky Dingo – premiering in September, supervillian Killface finds destroying the world a killjoy and his nemesis Awesome-X is equally ambivalent about stopping him.
Assy McGee – debuting in December, about a cop who tries to make things right in a city where crooks are raging and City Hall is soft on crime.
Saul of the Mole Man – late 2006, a terra-naut, during an expedition to the Earth's core, finds a strange civilization of Mole Men and almost destroys it. This show combines live action puppets and animation.
Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil – late 2006, since Lucy's dad is Satan, he constantly meddles in her life, particularly when she starts dating a guy who could be the Second Coming.
Acquired anime programs:
Eureka Seven – debuts April 15, Renton, who lives in a world where an extreme form of hoverboarding is common, is captivated by a mysterious girl named Eureka.
Bleach – debuts in the fall, Ichigo Kurosaki, an average 15-year old who can see ghosts, becomes a Soul Reaper after his family is attacked by a Hollow, a malevolent lost soul.
InuYasha – debuts in September, the adventures of a human girl, Kagome and a half-demon, InuYasha, set in feudal Japan.(Maybe they mean NEW EPISODES start in September? WTF, as.)
Pilots in development:
Korgoth of Barbaria – pilot airs in September, the future is a dark, wasteland with no cities and where primitive beasts have claimed the earth and thieves abound in dirty towns.
That Crook'd 'Sip – pilot airs this fall, the Beauregard family and their decaying Mississippi mansion represent the Old South, and in contrast a new modern Dirty South populates the area around them.
Returning series to Adult Swim include Robot Chicken, Family Guy, Tom Goes to The Mayor, The Venture Bros., Aqua Teen Hunger Force, 12oz. Mouse, Squidbillies, and Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.
Says nothing of Moral Orel, though it doesn't mention the Boondocks either, and we know that's coming back already. Rather depressed that TGttM is returning, as it is the worst show ever created.

Date: 2006-03-31 03:28 pm (UTC)The Lucy show sounds interesting, and Death Clock Metalocalypse sounds like a parody of a goth-rock band. GO AWAY, TOM! GO TO THE MAYOR AND NEVER COME BACK!
As for anime, I can't help but giggle every time a Bleach description makes the series sound like Ghostbusters with swords. Eureka 7 is pretty good (well, at least the first 8 episodes, which I have on an extra DVD I filched form work) but I've heard ehhh things about the dub voices. Beyond that, it's very pretty and refreshing--for a mecha show, there are a lot more scenes with people than big robot fights, and even when the mechas are in gear it's an innovative thing. They SURF. On AIR. That's cool.

Date: 2006-03-31 03:40 pm (UTC)Moral Orel is my current favorite. I can't wait for more Venture Brothers.
Tom Goes to the mayor made me chuckle a little when i first saw it, teh first epsiode since then it just sucked sooooooooo badly. If i could find those guys I'd tear them in half, as they are made of loose leaf paper.
