Alright, realistic resolutions with goals and dates worked well last year.

  • Lose 20 pounds by April 1. (And no April Fool's funny business. Return of the ticker, missy.)
  • I shall always know exactly how much I have in my checking account, as it shall be kept perfectly balanced. And there will never be a late payment again, save for extenuating circumstances.
  • Finish all the knitting projects you currently have on every set of needles. Then learn how to knit stripes. Then learn how to knit something that's not in a straight line. You have an entire bag full of this stuff, dammit, do it right. BEFORE you pick up something else to start.
  • Be more proactive at work and get things done before people expect them to be done and dick around less on Livejournal so that you're not in a panic at 4pm Fridays to get everything done before the week ends.
  • Do not use your credit card unless you absotively posolutely HAVE TO. HAVE TO. Like you get a flat tire at the mall have to, not "I want this video game REALLY BAD" have to.

What do you think, sirs?

I could copy and paste this. These are my resolutions.

Seriously. Amen to points two, three, and four in particular. (Four'll be a tough one for me as that last case is over, and we're on to boring stuff with no famous people, woes!)

Sounds good to me. I'm totally with you on the dropping some poundage, as well as the knitting thing. I have so many unfinished projects it's not even funny.

Come to think of it, the check book thing too. No more $35 late fees on stupid $5 overdrafts!!!

I KNOW! I've gone pennies over before, too, so maybe I should stick a teensy calculator in my checkbook. And, y'know, not buy things when it comes down to a matter of having pennies in my checking account.

I think they're everyone's resolutions for the most part. We should all be thinner and richer. :D Also, these pretty much get renewed for me every damn year.

Is knitting hard? I always want to get a book to learn but then I look at a book about it and it reads like japanese stereo instructions.

I worked better with pictures than being told how to do it. It depends on how best you learn, and go with that. I've got the hang of the various types of stitching, but not how to do anything beyond straight lines.

I like these resolutions! I'm already eating apples and carrot sticks and yogurt and OH GOD I NEED CHOCOLATE GIVE ME CHOCOLATE. Kidding. I even exercised last night, but I whacked my toe on my bedside table.

I feel your pain about trying to exercise and hurting yourself on furniture. Stupid furniture.
