Wish List

Remember last year's Wish List Meme? I think we should start it up again, kids.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

- You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

- There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Easy Fandom Stuff
1. I think the universe needs a Ewan McGregor icon with Christian from Moulin Rouge doing his "Love is a many-splendoured thing! All you need is love!" bit, and then Obi-eWan replying, "A Jedi craves not these things."

2. It's a point of sadness for me that I haven't found a Trigun fic that capitalizes on the fact that they have some screwed-up Western variations of modern things in that world, and I'd like to see how one celebrates the holidays there.

3. Smut in which someone uses the phrase "Stocking Stuffer" as double entendre. (This is a holdover from last year. I'm easy that way.)

4. A nice Juri layout for LJ.

IRL Things
5. Man am I ever in credit card debt. Give generously to the Casey fund. My paypal address is empressgalaxia @ yahoo.com. XD

6. I ♥ Katamari. Hint.

7. Anything Sanrio. At all. Really. Is it cute? I'm all about cute. (Another holdover from last year. Funny how my tastes rarely change.)

8. Coupling Season 4 still eludes me. I know it doesn't have Jeff, but still...

9. If you're feeling materialistic, to which I have no objections, here's my Amazon.com wishlist.

10. Smart people books and stuff. I like books. Recently I've only been reading things with pictures and word balloons and that hurts my emotional insides.

LOL, #10 is my fault. Mind you, possessions are often not as good as being lent things. Surely Angie or I can lend you some Katamari goodness. I also have a tiny library of plays to read. I need you to read some Brecht so you'll know what I'm talking about when I bring him up.

Nah, #10 isn't all your fault. I've mostly been keeping up with Fruits Basket and my superhero comix boox for a while now, but not actually reading anything with small print and no pictures. It's a little sad, especially given what an avid reader I used to be.

I get it now, I thought the "that hurts my emotional insides" was referring to the "things with pictures," but the "s" denotes a different topic. Yeah Grammar!

Anyway, I was thinkin', I got my copy of Neverwhere back from my friend Debbie and next time I see you it's all your's. High-profile urban fantasy, not too long, good stuff.

Bitchin'. If I ever get Powerless back from [livejournal.com profile] jaina, you can borrow that. It's not REALLY a superhero comic, and I think you might like it.
