Cooper: http://www.cooperband.com
Every once in a while a band comes out with simply "the right sound" and undeniable radio-ready songs. COOPER has been together for less than a year and have already created a buzz in an industry searching for fresh blood and commercial viability. Based in New York , the four-member band has consistently penned energetic, big-hooked modern rock songs and the fever is spreading slowly over the city. Having already won two major songwriting contests (sponsored by BMI and Billboard Magazine) with their very first song "Another Round," Cooper has been chosen as the "featured new artist" on Continental Airlines "Hit Factory" radio show which will be playing their song "Beautiful" on every Continental Airlines flight worldwide for two months starting in September. Cooper will be the only unsigned band along with songs by U2, Coldplay, 3 Doors Down, Green Day and other artists.
JJ Appleton: http://www.jjappleton.com
JJ (short for Jon Jason) Appleton hails from New York City via Vermont, Tonga and Oregon. Raised on musical influences from The Beatles to Fela Kuti, JJ mixes 2 parts Elvis Costello, 1 part Heartbreakers with a shot of pure pop, and swirls it all together in Ric Ocasek's blender. In his latest album, 500 Moments, guitars both energetic and lush, layer around lyrics that take the listner on a journey that centers around heartbreak, making up and all the ups and downs in between.
JJ is a New York City based artist who's been in the game for quite a few years, but has recently gained great attention for his first solo outing 500 Moments. First listens to the record have earned him a spot on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, a feature on E!'s Wild On, and a national affiliation with Budweiser's True Music Live program.
Earlymay: http://www.motherwest.com
A highly charged and distinctive blend of soaring guitars, pounding drums and delicate harmonies, this quartet creates a raw, multilayered wall of sound, whilst paying homage to the likes of Remy Zero, early Radiohead and U2. Recently finding themselves on the same sell-out bill as The Killers, Earlymay appeared unconcerned, unleashing their frenetic and driven sound on the expectant crowd - business as usual.
Lori Michaels: http://www.lorimichaels.net
Born with the soul of a New Yorker, raised in Detroit, rooted in the spirit of the Smoky Mountains; Lori calls New York City home. Lori didn't mean to make a country album, but apparently DNA comes out no matter what you do. Lori listens incessantly to Elvis Costello, the Beatles, and Charlie Rich fiercely believing that the louder you play these artists the world becomes a better place proportionally. It's okay to think she looks hot playing ukelele. We all think that.
