So I got a call yesterday at work, and one of my coworkers asked, "Hey, are we gonna be closed for the convention?"

With Otakon a little over a week away, that's what my thoughts turned to. And I was about to say, "No, it's okay; someone is covering for me, we're not gonna close because I'm gone..." when I realized he meant the Republican National Convention that's bringing 17 gajillion people to the city.

Then I thought about the protestors and hoped they wouldn't make things that much more difficult for me (as best stated by prettykate earlier), and I thought it would be funny if cosplayers showed up at the RNC. Like, girls dressed as boys and performing yaoi or something. That would really screw with some heads.

Or Ryouga! Someone should dress as Ryouga and show up to the convention! Because he's lost and at the wrong con! GET IT? HIGH-CONCEPT COSPLAY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

And then once we've got anime fans there, it's not long before people start writing Al Franken/Rush Limbaugh slash. Ooh, or KerryxEdwards mpreg.*

"Mr. President, we have a situation."

"What is it, terrorists?"

"Worse. Otaku."

"'Otaku?' Is that like Al-Quaeda?"

"Not exactly, but just as fanatical."

But as for lewd displays outside, you might be surprised at the response it'd get.
