Yay for long weekends (still on mine, actually, so nanny nanny boo boo)!
Kirk came over Friday night, and Saturday we drove down to my parents for a visit. We went out to dinner for Kirk's birthday at a local steakhouse. We did not alert the staff to his birthday, since not only do they clap, shout, and sing, but they bring out a saddle. We're not sure what happens with the saddle, but I think that knowledge would only be more horrifying.
While down south, we visited the local zoo on Sunday. The Cohanzick Zoo is a little free walkthrough park. They have mostly petting-zoo level stuff given its size, but they've been branching out. Now they've got a bear, a leopard, a couple ocelots, and some tigers.
AND PEACOCKS. Man, the peacocks RAN the friggin' place. They roamed about pretty freely. Also, learned they can fly. See the following:
"That sounds like a big bird up there. Is that a hawk? No, it's a...IS THAT A PEACOCK?!"
I had a picture of one of them in the tree, but these are all cameraphone, so none really came out properly.
( More zoo pics )
Sunday night we got back into town for one of Kirk's friend's parties. There were many unhealthy snacks and we watched Indiana Jones as projected in someone's backyard.
Monday there was much Doctor Who, as we caught up on episodes watched out of order. Was nice to stay in and watch British people after much cavorting about outside. And now, for the rest of my day off, I'm thinking of finding a new park or local beach or something to veg out on. Ciao.
