Sailor Moon Blurpings

I saw the first two seasons dubbed in syndication, and that's what got me hooked. I have S fansubbed on CDs. I have Stars fansubbed on VHS. I never bothered to track down SuperS, because its reputation preceded it.

But you know what?

I love SuperS.

You know what? The Outers rock, but I'm glad they're not here. Because in S and Stars, it always felt like, "We've got 10 senshi, and dammit, we're going to use them ALL!" So in between meeting victim of the day and them being attacked and fighting the monster and transformation sequences, there was no time left for actual character interaction. I always feel like Sailor Jupiter got shafted in the character/plot department, because Venus seems like a favourite since she has her own cat and is the Inners' leader, and Mercury and Mars got so much screen time in the beginning of the series. It's good to get back to that main 5.

I like that Chibi-Usa is featured more prominently here. She's coming into her own as a young woman, as a senshi, as a princess, as a character. She becomes less of a brat and we see more of what made her heart so pure, and what makes her such a beautiful dreamer. And because Pegasus/Helios is around, she stops being all "I love Mamo-chan," which was one of my big "I hate yamhead" beefs previous to this.

The villains have character. I do enjoy the episodes where they know we're not idiots, and jump into the plot, without the "let's pick victim of the episode!" scene. There's no, "Hmm, this person must have a beautiful dream. Let's get 'em." They're each after their own wants, and try to seduce their victim in their own way. (I will, however, say nothing of the rapacious nature of their attack).

So, dammit, I like SuperS! Though because it's Sailor Moon, I've seen 18 episodes of this season, and still feel like I really haven't watched anything. Hope to find SuperS 4 fer cheep soon.

Shit is what happens while you're busy making plans

I had a lot of shit planned to do today. Pick up my check, pay some bills, maybe stop by the mall. Go see Rob, head to AC, job-hunting, go to Target and check out what's on my friend's wedding reg.

And as I should have learned by now, any time I make responsible plans, life fucks it up. My car wouldn't start. I sat in it for 20 minutes, and it wouldn't roll over. It's never done this in the rain before. It's not the battery. I can't pinpoint why it's not starting, and that pisses me off.

Also, it's raining. Yuck.

So I'm back in the house, having an awful day, thinking, Geez, I'm so low, even a Beatles self-insertion Mary Sue MPreg would cheer me up.

Luckily k_diddy stepped up to the plate. :D
