1. Where were you when you heard about the attacks on the pentagon and WTC?
With Sue, on my way to Honours Sociology. It was early in the year, and I actually still went to that class. We were on our way there when the news was still in "What the FUCK just happened?" mode, and I laughed and said, "Man, those pilots really are getting dumber and dumber."
2. What country or group did you suspect immediately?
Stupid pilots.
3. Who were you with? How did you react?
Sue. And I laughed. I think my answers above gave too much away. However, when I saw the Pentagon had been hit, I think my heart promptly dropped into my bowels with the rest of the country.
4. Who did you call first?
Mom. Who else?
5. What did you do the rest of the day?
Went to classes. Because terrorism aims to change our way of life, so if we cancel classes, they win. And then all my professors let us out early, because they didn't feel like teaching.
6. Did you have any friends or family killed in the attacks?
No, one of the reasons I thought it was some sort of faux conspiracy at first...no one seemed to know anyone killed, yet they knew a cousin of an aunt of a friend that was missing.
7. Do you think 9-11 should be a holiday?
Only if Pearl Harbor day is declared a holiday. (December 7, nimrod.)
8. Do you think even a % of the money donated really made it to the families?
My mind can't grasp that anyone could go through that amount of wreckage and identify every single piece of remains found. And how do they divvy up that amount of money?
9. Did you feel an increased sense of patriotism? Did it last?
Let me get this straight. My country alleges that it is the number one world superpower, we have spy satellites that can tell exactly how much change you have in your pocket, we have the CIA and FBI and have our fingers up the asses of every other nation, and yet they let a plan this perfect slip past them? I'm supposed to be proud of that?!
10. Have you flown since the attacks? How soon did you fly again?
Yup. In January, to Vegas. Frankly, wasn't afraid to fly afterwards (moreso than usual, that is). If you think about it, the people behind the attacks had this pretty planned out, and wouldn't pull another stunt right after there's a big stink about raising security in airports. You wait until everything gets back to "normal," and you can have nail clippers again, then try something.
11. Have you been to Ground Zero?
Haven't been to New York in over a year. Sigh. Sue, come back!
