When I was in Film I, we were separated into groups for our film projects. In my group, there was a young lass named Ava. Ava was a theatre major, I believe, and said she had an agent and had been an extra in several things, and was a regular extra on Dawson's Creek. Ava liked Britney Spears. A LOT. She defended her lipsynching at concerts, because, liek, omg, NO ONE could dance AND sing at the same time! Anyone who argued that Broadway performers do it all the time faced the rebuttal, "Yeah, but she does really INTENSE dancing." She went so far as to say that Ms. Spears is the greatest entertainer of our time.
I watched the beginning of the American Music Awards tonight. The very first act was Britney herself. I paid much attention to her dancing - to see the intensity of it. I've seen better moves on a DDR pad. She'd take a few steps, swing her arms back and forth, maybe add a hop. I'd like to see her pull off a double Maniac with a passing grade.
Pointless post, I know. But, like, the three people on my friends list who remember her might get a chuckle.
