Fuck.

I used to like Spike. He ruled. Then he became a pussy and "Oh, he has a soul now and he's in LUUURVE!" Meh. I whooped when he burnt up (and I snickered when Buffy decided he was a "champion").

Then I found out this. Bugger all. Of course, Angel is the good vampire with a soul, so maybe Spike'll be a cool badass again, since he has to play against Angel. Maybehopefully.

I'm gonna watch Buffy Season Two again, from "Innocence" on. Mmm, Angelus. And Evil Spike.

Mmm. jennyo has theories, and when she has theories, I've noticed that ME seems to sit up and go 'yes m'm!' and do what she says. For example, (highlight if you're into possible spoilers and outright speculation) it's fairly much a given that Spike shanshus, and Jen and I were tossing around (or, at least, she was hashing out and I was gaping and agreeing) the idea of Spike being part of the Connor mind-wipe extravaganza, and so shows up as neither Spike nor Willam, but someone who either doesn't quite know who he is or someone who *thinks* he's someone else. Which could be neeeeat. So I, at least, am willing to wait before being all pissy about Spike being on the ME show that I *like*. And I never did manage to be a huge fan of Spike.

Hm...not a bad theory. I was a Spike fan (and even a Spike/Buffy fan) until an ep in season five (maybe four? maybe six? I think five...) when Dru stopped by for a guest starring appearance. Spike kidnapped her and Buffy so they could fight it out over him. And that's when I said, "Uck. Whaddya know, all likeage of Spike just kinda stopped."

But if he comes back as a total badass who has forgotten the past three seasons, then rowr.

I stopped liking him last season--loved him at the end of season 5, come on, with the horrible angsty sobbing--but I found it easier to like him this one because previous Spike != Souled Spike. Sure, there are reasons not to liked Souled Spike either, but in my book, they're not quite the same person so he got a clean slate with the soul...and fewer reasons for me not to like him.

I would've cried more if I didn't know he was coming back. Fucking WB jumping the gun.
