40cakesKirk, Jeff, Grace, and I made a day trip to New Hope this weekend, and it was not as awesome as previous visits. Cry. Instead of a lot of cool little hippie stores, the town seems to have remade itself as the perfect place for the elderly to spend their money before their kids get it. No one on this planet needs that many hand-blown glass lawn ornaments or fake Native American jewelery. There was also a cool vintage Catwoman figure in one of the stores where we stopped (which has not changed since I was last there), and the price sticker I thought said $7.95. Turns out someone just needs more aligned penmanship, because it was $795. Yech.
