I beg the question - when you see "NC-17," what do you think is contained therein? Whether it be at the theater, on cable, on FFN, whatever. Because I always kinda understood that it meant sex. But a whole lotta the people here have the reaction of, "OMG, I was reading this NC-17 fic, and then there was a SEX SCENE! It made me squinch my eyes shut, because ew, sex is gross and I don't need to know every detail!!!!!!"

You know what gets me about all that shit? The people who say they're Legato/Knives fans.

So basically, reading about Meryl and Vash doing the dirty is OH SO WRONG AND AGAINST THE BIBLE, and yet reading stuff where Legato is snogging on Knives (or doing more) is fine?

Another thought--I haven't spent much time at those boards but one of the posters has spent a great deal of time IMing me lately, and I've noticed that she seems to have a SERIOUS love/shame thing going on with the KxL. Like, she admits to liking it, but then worries about "dragging people into yaoi" who wouldn't like it otherwise and such. Like she can't admit that she just likes it and was not herself "enticed" into it. Sometimes I just want to say "Look, I know you touch yourself while you read, get over it." But I'm only sometimes pure evil.
