The Catholic League calls for an investigation of child porn in the movie Hounddog, shown at Sundance recently. According to the article, TCL president Bill Donoue says:
The Catholic Church has been criticized for allowing sexual abuse of minors to occur, he said. "Let's see now whether Hollywood will be held to the same level of scrutiny."

Except, y'know, members of the Catholic Church have ACTUALLY been sexually abusing minors, and the director of this film edited images together to portray a horrible act. In fiction. Which isn't real. So it's not the same level of scrutiny, because they didn't actually force Dakota Fanning to have sex with anyone. Which is rape. Guh.

yep, and then the director went on to Direct "Powder" for Disney and alot of people were upset.

Clownhouse was still a scarry movie though, probably becuase teh actors wear actaully frightened in real life.

Perhaps the film studio should follow the very progressive solution that the church employed when the child abuse issues became apparent; just quietly transfer the film to a different community without warning, wait for the same thing to happen again, transfer the film again, and then forever deny that any harm was done. ;)
